The Gay Diagnoses

By Francis Nye

NARTH is the acronym for National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality.  Did you catch that last part - Therapy of Homosexuality?  NARTH believes that homosexuality is a mental disorder like being bipolar, depression, OCD,  GAD, PSD, ect., ect.  In other words you are “mentally ill” if you are gay.

According to Healthline’s website (http://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health-basics) that list mental disorders I don’t see homosexuality listed.   I also checked out the popular WebMD site (http://www.webmd.com/) and much to my astonishment I didn’t find homosexuality listed there either.  So what does NARTH know that the medical and psychological establishments don’t?  Nothing.  So what’s their agenda then?

To see NARTH’s agenda look no further than its former president.  NARTH’s past President, Dr. Joseph Nicolosi  Ph.D. was the director of the Thomas Aquinas Psychological Clinic.  For those of you who are not so savvy with your church history, ThomasAquinas is a Catholic saint.  So we can infer that there are religious overtones in these mental diagnoses of homosexuality.

It’s the beat of the same old drummer.  Being gay is a sickness.  Being gay is a choice.  Stop sinning and change your ways.  One just has to ask, when is the religious community going to get it through their thick skulls that being gay isn’t a sickness or a choice?  It’s nothing more than the same old song and dance and the persecution of the gay community.  I read post that that said NARTH gives psychology a bad name and they are no better than hate groups like the Klan or Neo Nazis.  I am not so sure I would go that far but NARTH does shed a bad light on the otherwise noble establishment of psychology in my opinion.

The only reason I bring all this up is that these so called diagnoses of NARTH are leading good people who are gay to feel so depressed about themselves that they end up committing suicide.  Kirk Murphy was just one that was treated by NARTH for his homosexuality.  His mother, Kaytee gave him over to these witch doctors when he was a boy hoping that they could cure him of being gay.  His treatment last a little less than a year but haunted him the rest of his life.  Now his mother lives with this regret the rest of her life according to an interview with AC360.

Despite acknowledging himself as a gay man in 1985, Kirk never had a loving and committed relationship and chose a career where being openly gay wasn’t even possible. He spent eight years in the U.S. Air Force and then held a high-profile position with an American finance company in India. It was there, in his New Delhi apartment, that Kirk Murphy died by suicide in 2003. He was just 38 years old.

When will religious people realize that their supernatural self-righteousness has real world consequences?   That people actually are harmed in their attempt to shape the world in their own delusion of what God wants.  Enough already let people live their lives the way they want.  Gays don’t interfere and oppress Christians so what is the need to destroy their lives.  Get over it already and accept the fact that people are born gay just as people are born heterosexual.  It’s not a choice but something that is hardwired into their very being.  I am sorry that the Christians find gay people so distasteful but Christians need to worry more about their souls than the souls of others.  What was it that Jesus said, “Let the one among you that is without sin cast the first stone.”  John 8:7

View the Sissyboy Syndrome Video as seen on CNN and you can begin to understand the torture that NARTH put Kirk Murphy through.
